Wine on board the Caribbean with great food and friends is a perfect pairing!
I was on board the high seas recently for the WineHarvest Celebration on Celebrity Century cruise as a guest speaker throughout the week for varying wine 101 classes, food and wine pairings, etc. This was my first cruise and it was a blast.Here’s a pic of me in the main lobby area:
While on board the cruise, different themed dinners occur throughout the week. This video was done at a formal dinner in the main dining area. If you’re a foodie and ever can’t decide on which appetizer or main course to get when dining out, a cruise is for you, mainly because of the endless supply of free food. I wish the wine was as well! Below you can see I couldn’t decide on just one dessert, so got all 3 and some nice Ice wine with that apple tart 
The menu changed each night in this particular restaurant. There were about 4 different dining areas on board, the majority of people seemed to love the buffet area; especially for breakfast with every imaginable food you can think of…
For this particular evening I went with a refreshing, crisp 2009 Southern Right South African Sauvignon Blanc, about $14.99 a bottle and earned 90 points by WS. The wine hit the spot after a long day of wine tasting on board. It had a wonderful Old World minerality and New World bright lime and lemon palate.
